The course will teach students the fundamentals of simple residential and multifamily boilers and their control. Together with hands-on demonstration and practice, the student will leave the course with the knowledge and confidence to wire boilers. Course topics covered include:

• Basic principles of residential steam and hot water boilers
• Description of electrical and electronic components of boilers
• Protection circuit of boilers
• Control circuit of boilers
• Multi-zone boilers
• Basic wiring of multi-family boilers (Tekmar)

Boiler Wiring is a 30 hour course. Students will meet for ten - 3 hour sessions. If you do not have a basic knowledge of motors and controls, it is strongly recommended that you take MOTOR CONTROL as a pre-requisite to Boiler Wiring.
